Azerbaijan’s participation in Montreux festival concludes with special jazz program  - PHOTO

Following the gala concert held at the Auditorium Stravinski on September 14, a concert program dedicated to Azerbaijani jazz art was presented, APA reports.

At the concert, renowned jazz pianist and composer Isfar Sarabski performed with his trio – double bass player Makar Novikov and percussionist Amir Bresler.

The program featured Isfar Sarabski’s works “Horses of Garabagh,” “Around the Thread,” “BTS (Behind Train Station) Blues,” “Planet,” and “G-Man,” as well as a jazz arrangement of Claude Debussy’s “Clair de Lune.” Tar player Shahriyar Imanov joined the trio for the composition “Horses of Garabagh.”

As part of the concert, Said Rustamov’s song “Hardasan” was performed by Honored Artist Sevda Alakbarzade, while the Azerbaijani folk song “Ay Lachin” was performed by Ilkin Dovlatov.

Thus, Azerbaijan’s participation in the festival concluded with a diverse program encompassing national dance, classical music, mugham, and jazz.
