Event entitled â€œSacred places of Gobustanâ€ to be held in Gobustan

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova â€“ APA. Event entitled â€œSacred places of Gobustanâ€ will be held in Gobustan within the framework of â€œBaku â€“ Capital of Islamic Culture - 2009â€on April 18. Spokesman for Culture and Tourism Ministry Intigam Humbatov told APA that the guests would visit sacred place Gara Atli. Local and foreign guests, media representatives were invited to the event. Humbatov said exhibition â€œSacred places of Gobustanâ€ and a commercial would be demonstrated in the first part of the event. The commercial was directed by Novruz Hikmat and operated by Elkhan Rustamov. Honored artist Samir Samadov and peopleâ€™s artist Madina Aliyeva will perform â€œDance of dervishâ€, ensemble of ancient musical instruments of Azerbaijan State Museum of Music Culture will perform, examples of applied art will be demonstrated and sold at the end of the event.

Gobustan is one of the ancient cultural places of Azerbaijan. For centuries Gobustan was considered an ancient land. There are drawings on the rocks representing dancing, sacrifice and hunting scenes. Later, it was believed that Gobustan drawings had been created by a divine force, the traces on the rocks had belonged to the holy people.
