“By complying with BCI standards, we can meet the growing demand for responsibly sourced materials in Western countries, open the door to wider export opportunities and enhance our reputation as a reliable partner in global textile markets,” John Young Simpson noted.
The event, which was also attended by Azerbaijan's Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov and moderated by GP Cotton Holdings Chairman Young Simpson, featured speakers including Yannis Bellinghausen, Standards Director of the Better Cotton Initiative, Eric Traxtenberg, Executive Director of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC), Mirmukhsin Sultanov, Chairman of the UzTextile Association, and Rovshan Mahmudov, CEO of Prime Cotton.
The discussions highlighted the importance of sustainable practices in increasing resilience, reducing environmental impact and supporting rural development. Speakers shared success stories and innovative strategies, highlighting the importance of policy and industry collaboration for change.
