A meeting was held at the Baku Initiative Group (BIG) office with representatives of a number of African nations and states that have suffered from colonialism, visiting Azerbaijan during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), APA reports.
The meeting was attended by MPs from Mali, Togo, Djibouti, Nigeria, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Mauritania, heads of non-governmental organizations, politicians, eco-activists, and human rights defenders.
During the meeting of the BIG delegation with representatives of African countries, views were exchanged on new manifestations of neo-colonialism and joint steps to prevent it, implementation of joint cooperation projects, as well as damage to the environment and human health and demands for compensation for this damage.
