Azerbaijan plays a crucial role as the coordinator in the priority area of developing "Safe and Efficient Systems of Transport Corridors," Zhang Ling, Deputy Secretary-General of CICA, at a panel discussion titled "Pathways to Sustainable Connectivity: Efforts of CICA and its Member States, and Regional Organizations in Asia for Secure, Effective and Climate-Resilient Transportation Corridors" within the framework of COP29 COP29, APA reports.
She noted that Azerbaijan, as a key transit hub connecting Europe and Asia, serves as an example of the transformative potential of sustainable connectivity: "Considering that many CICA Member States are transit countries, transport corridors are an integral part of our collective vision for expanded regional cooperation."
