Russian writer, historian, and academic Yuri Pompeyev, the author of the book “Karabakh in Blood,” has passed away, APA's Russian bureau reports.
The well-known writer died this morning at the age of 88 in St. Petersburg.
Pompeyev made significant contributions to bringing the truth about Armenian atrocities during the First Karabakh War to the international community. In particular, six months after the Khojaly genocide in 1992, the writer presented his book “Karabakh in Blood” and organized an exhibition in St. Petersburg to inform the Russian audience about the Armenian atrocities.
In his interviews, the historian repeatedly stated that “as long as those responsible for Khojaly remain free, Armenian Nazi ideology will not be eliminated.”
His book “Days of Hardship,” dedicated to the events in Karabakh, was published in 1993.
