Baku-APA.Three Georgian soldiers were killed and 13 others wounded in a military training accident on Tuesday, according to Georgian military and medical sources, APA reports quoting Xinhua News Agency.

A defense ministry statement said that a 120-millimeter shell exploded during a planned training session for a mortar battalion.

Papuna Bakhtadze, chief doctor at the Rustavi Central Hospital, said that four of the wounded soldiers were in critical conditions while the other nine wounded soldiers were in stable conditions.

Military police and the military inspection chief from the defense ministry rushed to the training ground to probe the cause of the fatal accident.

The Georgian defense ministry has sent messages of condolences to the families of the deceased soldiers.
