Marneuli. Nizami Mammadzadeh – APA. Georgian President Mickail Saakashvili took a stance on the opening of Upper Lars checkpoint, APA’s Georgia bureau reports. Answering journalists’ question in the Nowruz festivity in Marneuli, President Mikhail Saakashvili also replied to the question concerning smuggling of weapons through Upper Lars. He said nothing happened and could not happen.
“The work of the checkpoint is very transparent. There is no danger. 60-70 people have crossed the checkpoint within a day. No complaint has been received concerning the work of the checkpoint,†he said.
