Natural disaster causes heavy casualties in Kazakhstan

Astana – APA. At least 20 people have died as a result of Kyzyl-Agash dam rupture caused by heavy rains in Almaty region of Kazakhstan. According to APA, at least 60 houses have been poured and population is evacuated from the disaster zone. Major railroads and highway bridges across the Almaty region have also been washed away, causing severe disruptions. Bije River flooding has seriously damaged the railway. President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has issued an order to establish a government commission for lifting the results of natural disaster.
