Singapore president visits Brunei

Baku-APA. Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam arrived here Tuesday for a three-day state visit to Brunei, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

It is Tan's first state visit to Brunei after he became president in 2011.

According to local radio news reports, he had called on Brunei' s Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and will meet with senior members of the Bruneian Royal Family and Cabinet.

In the evening, the president met with representatives of the Singaporean community in Brunei during a dinner reception at The Empire Hotel & Country Club.

Besides, the president will also visit the Muara Naval Base and a youth center in Brunei. In addition, Tan is also scheduled to visit Singapore Armed Forces personnel and families based in Brunei, according to Singapore Foreign Ministry.
