Baku-APA. Five more Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday after Israel's four- hour cease-fire proposal was rejected by Hamas, medics said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qedra said that four Palestinians were killed and several people injured in renewed Israeli tanks shelling on northern Gaza Strip. A fifth Palestinian was killed and five critically injured in an Israeli airstrike on the village of Abbassan, east of the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis.
The Israeli strikes came shortly after Hamas said that Israel's proposal for a four-hour truce is "worthless" and "an act of media maneuver."
The death toll in the Gaza Strip since a large-scale Israeli offensive started on July 8 has risen to 1,306 on Wednesday, with more than 7,000 wounded, officials said.
