Baku-APA. The Indian capital and its suburbs were hit by four earthquakes in the wee hours of Tuesday, a senior meteorological department official said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

However, there have been no reports of casualty or any damage to property.

"The quakes, measuring between 2.5 and 3.3 on the Richter Scale, hit the national capital and its suburbs such as Gurgaon and Noida between 12.40 a.m. and 3.40 a.m. (local time). The epicenter of the quakes is somewhere in the Indian capital," he said, on condition of anonymity.

Local TV channels showed panicky people running out of their homes as the earthquakes gave them a sleepless night.
