Baku-APA. At least 42 people were killed and 87 were injured in two seperate bombings in Iraq's eastern Diyala province on Monday, APA reports quoting Anadolu Agency.
In the first incident, a car bomb exploded in a busy marketplace, killing 35 people and injuring 72.
Meanwhile, in Kanaan district, a suicide bomber blew himself up in a residential area, killing seven and injuring 15 others.
Last month, a car bomb attack at a popular market south of Baquba killed more than 100 people and injured 140 others.
Daily bombings have become a familiar phenomenon in Iraq's large provinces, often targeting civilians.
Iraq has been gripped by a security vacuum since June 2014 when Daesh stormed the northern city of Mosul and declared a self-styled caliphate in parts of Iraq and Syria.
