Türkiye’s Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler has stated that the investigation of the black box of the C-130 aircraft that crashed in Georgia is ongoing, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
The minister noted that the black box is being thoroughly examined by specialists from Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI/TUSAŞ). Once the investigation is completed, the results will be made public.
“We have been using C-130 aircraft since 1964. From that time until today, such an accident had not occurred. C-130 aircraft are still considered among the most reliable aircraft in the world today and are currently used by 70 countries. After this accident, we placed all our C-130 aircraft under full inspection. Once the inspections are completed, we will return our aircraft to service. The black box of our crashed aircraft is currently still being examined at TUSAŞ. Our accident investigation team is also continuing its work. Whatever the outcome regarding the cause of the crash, we will transparently disclose it to the public,” the minister said.
It should be recalled that on November 11, a Turkish C-130 military transport aircraft flying from Azerbaijan to Türkiye crashed in Georgian territory. As a result of the crash, all 20 military personnel on board were killed.
