President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a meeting with Syria's interim leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa, who arrived in Ankara on Tuesday, APA reports citing Daily Sabah.
Al-Sharaa met the Turkish president in the capital Ankara after flying in from Saudi Arabia, where he was seeking help from wealthy Gulf countries to finance the reconstruction of his war-ravaged nation and revive its economy.
Meanwhile, Türkiye's first lady Emine Erdogan met with Sharaa's wife, Latife Al-Durubi.
Sharaa is also scheduled to attend a working dinner with delegations and participate in a joint press conference at the Presidential Complex as part of his Ankara visit on Erdogan's invitation.
