Syria's interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa announced the formation of a new government late Saturday, reaffirming his commitment to "building a strong and stable state", APA reports citing Syrian media.
Foreign Minister Assaad al-Shaibani and Defence Minister Mourhaf Abu Qasra will retain their positions in the new government.
Anas Khattab, the head of general intelligence, has been appointed interior minister. Mohammed Yosr Bernieh was named finance minister.
Veteran opposition figure Hind Kabawat was named social affairs and labour minister, the first woman to be appointed the Islamist Sharaa.
