South Korea announced on Monday that it will start developing its first long-range air-to-ground missile system, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) stated the government will invest $146 million (190 billion won) in the project, which will start this month and is expected to end in 2028.
The missiles will be fitted on the South Korean KF-21 fighter jets, DAPA said. In addition to boosting domestic defense and deterrence, the project will enhance South Korea's military export capabilities, both of the missile itself and the fighter jets.
