North Korea on Wednesday fired an unspecified ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan, known as the East Sea, Yonhap news agency announced, citing the South Korean military, APA reports.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of South Korea announced the news and added that further details are pending.
The launch took place during North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un's visit to Russia, where he is slated to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
