A preliminary report on the Libyan plane that crashed in Ankara has been released, APA's Türkiye bureau reports.
Initial investigations have shown that the plane had undergone a technical inspection 14 days before the crash. The plane, which took off from Esenboga Airport at 20:33, requested an emergency landing due to an electrical fault. During its descent, the plane disappeared from radar screens at 20:36.
The report stated that the plane hit a hill at an altitude of 1252 meters, its engines were running and it crashed at high speed. As a result of the force of the collision, the plane exploded, and the remains were scattered over an area of approximately 150 thousand square meters. Although a short-term glow was observed after the plane hit the ground, no signs of fire were found.
