Morocco, Israel to boost military cooperation

Military leaders from Morocco and Israel reiterated here on Tuesday to enhance their cooperation in the military and defense sectors, APA reports citing Xinhua.

Moroccan Minister in charge of the National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi and Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) Belkhir El Farouk met with Israeli Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi, who leads a large delegation on a working visit to the North African country, the FAR said in a statement.

The military leaders of both countries welcomed the bilateral military cooperation, reiterating to develop and strengthen relations which aim to promote peace and stability in the region, said the statement.

They also examined the opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the areas of training, technology transfer and experience and expertise sharing between the two armies, it said.

Israel signed an agreement with Morocco to normalize ties in 2020. The two countries signed a memorandum of understanding in November 2021 for increasing cooperation in the fields of intelligence, industrial collaboration, military training.
