Iran’s religious persons declare forbidden to shoot serial on Shams Tabrizi and Mevlana

High religious persons in Iran have declared prohibited to shoot a soap opera on Shams Tabrizi and Mevlânâ Jalāl ad-Dīn Rūmī, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.

Grand Ayatollah Hossein Noori-Hamedani and Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi noted that shooting a serial on well-known mystic scientist and poet Shams Tabrizi and great Taṣawwuf poet Mevlânâ Jalāl ad-Dīn Rūmī, contrary to shariat (principles of Muslim world).

Both religious persons stressed that opinions of Shams Tabrizi and Mevlana were contrary to Islam.

Note that producer of the serial named “Maste Eshg” (“Drunk on Love”) is Hassan Fat'hi. The serial will deal with lives of Shams Tabrizi and Mevlânâ Jalāl ad-Dīn Rūmī. Famous actor Shahab Hosseini will play role of Shams Tabrizi, while Parsa Pirouzfar will play role of Mevlana in the serial, jointly produced by Iran and Turkey.
