China has successfully launched the Fengyun-3H satellite, designed for meteorological observations, into a Sun-synchronous orbit, APA reports, citing China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
The launch was carried out on Saturday at 03:28 Beijing time on a CZ-4C rocket from the Jiuquan Space Center in the north of the country, the report said.
It is noted that the second-generation Fengyun-3H satellite will replace its predecessor, Fengyun-3D.
The new device will reduce the update period of meteorological data used by forecasters from 6 hours to 4 hours, increase the forecasting period by approximately 24 hours, and almost double the efficiency of monitoring natural disasters.
