Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister Qin Gang expressed his country's concerns about the "intensifying" conflict between Russia and Ukraine, noting that Beijing has worries about the situation possibly "even getting out of control," APA reports citing Financial Times.

"It has been nearly a year since the crisis in Ukraine escalated across the board," the foreign minister said at a conference on international security in Beijing, per the AP. The official urged the countries concerned "to stop adding fuel to the fire as soon as possible" and cautioned them against blaming Beijing for the conflict.

Qin added that China is willing to mediate by working "with the international community to promote dialogue and consultation," which further reaffirmed his country's desire to remain a neutral player and a peacemaker in the conflict without condemning either side.
