Several US military aircraft were damaged in Iranian strikes on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan overnight on September 9, CBS News reported, citing sources.
According to the report, one A-10 Thunderbolt attack aircraft at the base was severely damaged and lost a wing.
Eight F-15 fighter jets reportedly sustained minor damage but were later returned to service.
CBS News reported that US forces in Jordan fired more than 30 missiles from Patriot air defense systems to defend against the Iranian attack.
No fatalities were reported among US military personnel stationed in Jordan as a result of the strikes.
