Azerbaijan's Embassy in Syria organized an iftar for orphaned children in the capital Damascus, APA reports citing haber7.com.
It was stated that the event, which will last for three days, will cover up to 1,000 children.
Elnur Shahhuseynov, Azerbaijan's Chargé d'Affaires in this country, who attended the event, stated that 500 children in need of care are participating in today's ceremony.
The diplomat also announced that due to the events in Syria, Azerbaijan's embassy had suspended its activities since 2012, and the process of its restoration had recently been launched.
Note that Azerbaijan has sent 200 tons of humanitarian aid to this country so far.
