Muntazer al-Zaidi has pleaded not guilty to assault charges. He said his action was a “natural response to the occupation”. “Bush is guilty in the Iraqi blood. I am not sorry that I threw shoe. Bush is not a guest in Iraq. The guest is staying not more than three days, but Bush is in Iraq for six years. He is not a guest. He is an occupant”, said Muntazer al-Zaidi. The journalist said Bush left one million Iraqi women a widow and six million children an orphan. “Our women faced with infringement. People were arrested and their houses were assaulted. The mosques were destroyed. I couldn’t be patient with smiling Bush after all of these. I should throw shoe at him two years ago in Amman, but I couldn’t. I have trained the shoe-throwing since 2006”.
