Islamabad – APA. At least 80 people were killed and 40 injured as a powerful earthquake struck west of Pakistan. APA reports that 25 bodies were taken out of the debris in Baluchistan province. At least two died near Quetta province. Local authorities suppose that the number of victims will rise. No casualties or destructions are reported in other quake-affected regions.
The 6.2-magnitude quake hit about 70 kilometres north of the Pakistani city of Quetta at 5:09 am, the US Geological Survey said.
7.6-magnitude earthquake, which hit north-west of Pakistan in October, 2005, killed 73,000 people.
