Tel-Aviv –APA. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert resigned Sunday ending the formal procedure of government changing until the early elections, APA reports. Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, newly elected leader of ruling Kadima Party, is expected to take the post of Prime Minister in the next few days. Israeli President Shimon Peres has already begun a round of consultations with different Knesset factions before choosing a parliamentarian to form the next government. The president will announce his final decision in the evening after finishing the consultations. According to the Israeli legislation, any of 120 members of Knesset can be charged with mission to form the new government. Analysts said probably Tzipi Livni would take the post of Prime Minister because she replaced Olmert in the post of Kadima’s leader after her victory in the party’s election.
