Tsipi Livni can be second woman prime minister in Israel

Tel-Aviv –APA. Israel’s foreign minister Tsipi Livni won the elections for the ruling Kadima Party’s leadership. According to the results of exit-polls by Israel’s three major TV channels Tsipi Livni won 47-49 % of votes and left behind her main rival -minister of transport Shaul Mofaz (37%). Livni, 50, a lawyer and former Mossad officer, gets a chance to lead the government. She will become Israel’s second woman Prime Minister after Golda Meir. Livni will replace Ehud Olmert, who is stepping down in light of multiple corruption allegations. The new Prime Minister has to form government in 42 days after the Olmert’s resignation.
