Iranian World of Warcraft gamers blocked by US sanctions - <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

Baku. Konul Jafarli-APA. Popular and bestselling Internet game â€œWorld of Warcraftâ€ was blocked for the Iranians. Activision Blizzard, the company that makes the popular online role-playing game, informed users last week that because of U.S. sanctions, Iranian players are no longer able to access World of Warcraft and other titles, APA reports quoting CNNMoney.

A Blizzard employee responded to the thread on Saturday, writing that "United States trade restrictions and economic sanction laws prohibit Blizzard from doing business with residents of certain nations, including Iran."

"This week, Blizzard tightened up its procedures to ensure compliance with these laws, and players connecting from the affected nations are restricted from access to Blizzard games and services," the employee said.

The post added that Blizzard was unable to grant refunds to Iranian users, but said the company "will happily lift these restrictions as soon as US law allows."
