Baku-APA. Australian Department of Defence confirmed that Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel have been killed in Oruzgan province of Afghanistan Thursday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
Although the exact number is yet to be confirmed, media reports earlier said three soldiers had been killed in an attack by a member of the Afghan security forces.
Defence says it is currently in the process of informing the next of kin of the soldiers involved.
There are 1,550 Australian soldiers in Oruzgan province. The deaths, if confirmed as Australian, would bring the total number of Australian soldiers killed to 36.
