Baku-APA. The U.S. commander of International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan, General John Allen, will visit Pakistan on Thursday to review border coordination, the army said on Wednesday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The ISAF commander will call on Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, an army statement said.

The interaction will focus on reviewing the progress made in the implementation of recently border coordination measures and standing operation procedures, the statement added.

No other details were given in the statement.

General Allen visited Pakistan earlier this month for talks on border security as relationship between the two countries has improved after months of tension.

High level contacts between the two sides resumed in the wake of reopening of supply line for NATO forces in Afghanistan in July.

Ahead of his Pakistan’s visit, General Allen has claimed that Afghan Taliban leader, Mulla Omar, is hiding in Pakistan and send fighters to Afghanistan.

"Omar lives in Pakistan, as do many of his commanders," Allen wrote in an article in The Washington Post.
