Baku-APA. Syrian foreign ministry said Monday that the politicized decisions made by the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and other international organizations have given a green light to the armed groups on ground to carry on with their murders, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

In a detailed report sent by the ministry to the UN chief and carried by the state-run SANA news agency, the ministry said the UNHRC’s latest resolutions did not contribute to finding a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis, but only complicated the situation and provided a cover for the support that was offered by some Arab countries to the armed groups in Syria.

The ministry stressed that it is time for the UNHRC to stop casting accusations on Syria, saying that more than 60 batches of sanctions targeting the livelihood of the Syrians have been imposed, including bans on exporting cancer medications to Syria.

In the report, the ministry expressed hopes that UN chief Ban Ki-moon would stick to evenhandedness and objectivity in his reports regarding the Syrian situation.

The foreign ministry also reiterated that what is going in Syria are criminal and terrorist acts backed by outside support, adding that the government is trying to deter the occurrence of terrorist acts and to protect the lives of its citizens.

It concluded by saying that Syria has cooperated with the mission of special joint envoy Kofi Annan and his six-point peace plan, accusing the armed elements and their international backers of undercutting the peace plan and the work of the UN Supervision Mission in Syria.

The report comes amid the worsening situation in Syria’s capital Damascus, which has witnessed severe clashes over the past 24 hours between the government forces and armed opposition fighters.
