Blast hit wedding party of Afghan deputy’s daughter

Baku – APA. According to local authorities in northern Samangan province, a suicide bomber detonated his explosives near a wedding hall in this province on Saturday morning. The officials further added the incident took place in Morwarid Wedding Hall where a family of the Afghan parliament member was celebrating marriage ceremony of their daughter, APA reports KHAMAA Press. Preliminary reports suggest at least 80 people including Ahmad Khan Samangani Afghan parliament member, Commander Tor Brother and son of Ahmad Khan, provincial NDS chief, Ahmad Sami senior police official in western Afghanistan and former Faryab provincial security chief were killed or injured following the incident.
In the meantime Ahmad Ali Tamaski another Afghan parliament member representing northern Samangan province confirming the report said the local officials and Afghan MP were killed following a suicide bomb blast.

A spokesman for 303 Pamir Zone Security Commandment Lal Mohammad Ahmzai said at least 22 people were killed and more than 50 others were injured following the blast however he did not comment regarding the death of senior local security officials. The incident took place around 8 am local time after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives in front of a hotel where Ahmad Khan Samangani was celebrating her daughter’s marriage ceremony. Local residents and eyewitnesses in the area said the suicide bomber detonated his explosives near a gathering of local officials along with Ahmad Khan Samangani near the entry gate of the hotel. Ahmad Khan Samangani currently Afghan parliament member was a former member of the Afghan National Movement Party of Afghanistan under the leadership of Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum.
He was a prominent leader in Samangan province and was considered to be a vital commander operating under Gen .Abdul Rashid Dostum National Movement of Afghanistan party. No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
