10-12 blasts happened in various parts of the capital in the morning. Some attribute it to the decision to arrest vice-president of Iraq Tariq al-Hashemi. Tariq al-Hashemi, the leader of the Sunni-backed Iraqiya party, is hiding in the region controlled by Kurds and refutes the accusations of the Shiite government.
Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is trying to achieve the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister Saleh al-Mutlaq, who is considered the supporter of al-Hashemi.
Members of the Iraqiya party boycott the parliament and the government. Nouri al-Maliki has said he will replace the ministers opposing the government by more loyal persons.
