APA reports that Yagub Maleki was arrested by the Iran’s intelligence agency (ETTELAAT) because of protesting the results of presidential elections held in Iran in 2009.Azerbaijani political activist was accused of cooperation with foreign countries.
Yagub Maleki headed the election campaign of one of the main oppositional candidates to the presidency Mirhossein Mousavi, who is under house arrest, in Urmia. The Azerbaijani political activist, who is veteran of the eight-year Iraq-Iran war, is a military aviator and got education in the US.
