Baku. Ziya Agazade – APA. Google isn’t the only one attracting attention in the Chinese digital censorship stir-up.

The main mobile network in the country, China Mobile, will be helping the government censorship drive by scanning mobile owners text messages for “illegal” content - and banning those who don’t comply with government dictates, APA reports quoting Agency France Press (AFP).

China Mobile has a checking system that will read SMS sent within the country. According to AFP, if a text is found that has obscene, violent or unhealthy content, the sender will be banned. The person in question can get their service restored, but only after they promise in writing not to do it again. This isn’t the first strike against mobility from China. As part of the overall crackdown on “unacceptable” websites, 11,000 mobile websites were blocked last year.
