Arab League appoints first head of mission in Ankara

Baku. Ibad Bagirov-APA. Secretary General of the League of Arab States Amr Moussa has appointed Ambassador Mohammed Al-Fateh Al-Nasiri, Moroccan, as head of the League’s mission in Ankara, APA reports.
An agreement to establish a headquarters for this mission was signed on October 11, 2008 on the sidelines of the first meeting of the Arab-Turkish Forum.
Al-Nasiri said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that he would begin his tenure as of next February to be the first ambassador of the Arab League in Ankara.
He said that Arab-Turkish relations were closely intertwined and Turkey, a central state, has a significant presence in the region and concerned with the issue of peace in the Middle East as well as on regional security and seek to find economic and cultural integration and cooperation with the Arabs in various fields.
