US missile strike kills 14 in Pakistan

Baku-APAMissiles fired from US drones hit a compound of suspected Taliban and killed at least 14 people on Wednesday, the 5th strike in a week in Pakistan’s tribal region of North Waziristan, locals and officials said, repoted by Ä°RNA

The drone conducted two strikes in Datta Khel area, some 40 kilometers from Miranshah, the center of North Wazirustan.
Official sources said that the first strike hit a compound and killed three militants at 4:15 p.m.
Another drone struck the same place after an hour, killing seven more people. Locals said that the second strike was conducted when militants were pulling out bodies and injured from the rubbles.
On Thursday a senior Pakistani Taliban commander Haji Omar Khan and three other people killed in drone attack near Mir Ali, a main town in North Waziristan tribal region.
U.S. unmanned Predator aircraft regularly conducts strikes in Waziristan tribal region despite objection by Pakistan.
The US had stepped up attacks inside Pakistanâ€™s tribal areas last year and the new year started with early morning strike.
Pakistan opposes the strikes but Washington believes that al-Qaeda remnants and Taliban militants are planning attacks across the border in Afghanistan.
