Istanbul. Mayis Alizadeh – APA. Iran rejected proposal to give its enriched uranium to Turkey, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said at a press conference at Ceylan International Hotel in Istanbul after COMCEC summit, APA Turkish bureau reports. Ahmadinejad claimed that capitalism is dead and it needs to create new system improving welfare of the people. The Iranian president talked about the usefulness of nuclear energy and said some countries tried to keep this energy and not to allow other countries to have it. Reacting to the IAEA Director General Mohammad al-Baradei’s proposal “to give enriched uranium to Turkey”, Ahmadinejad said: “This question is over for us. We made our proposals to the Western countries. They didn’t give positive answer and left themselves in difficult situation. The Iranian people responded those who tried to tackle our development. Therefore we don’t conduct any discussion over the peaceful nuclear energy”.

Ahmadinejad said Turkey and Iran reached agreement on national currency-trade and Russia and Syria would also join this agreement. “We have no advantages in trade using the dollar. National currency trade is in favor of us. I hope more countries will understand that in near future. There is no visa regime between Turkey, Syria and Iran. Iraq will also join this agreement. This is good response to those who try to divide us. Our cooperation is not against anyone, but in favor of the region”.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said nuclear weapons were not useful for the countries. “If it was so, Israel would use it in military operations in Gaza and Lebanon”. The Iranian president said he congratulated Barack Obama on his election the US president, but against the expectations, there are no changes in U.S. policy. Ahmadinejad said he expected radical changes from Obama. “It is not easy to make changes indeed. If honorable Obama wants to succeed, he should take serious actions to reach great targets. We declared our intentions to help him if only he had hearing and understanding ears. We are welcoming the changes and waiting for great decisions”.

Ahmadinejad’s press conference lasted for one hour 40 minutes. Iran’s embassy in Ankara allowed only Turkish Islamist media to ask questions. Before asking the questions, Turkish-pro-government Islamist media groups praised Iranian president and criticized Israel claiming for “beginning of Islamic unity in the world”.
