Violence against Uighurs continues in China – <font color=red> PHOTOSESSION </font>

Baku – APA. Unrests erupted in Xinjiang-Uighur region of China on July 5 are continuing. Many Han Chinese carrying clubs, steel pipes and shovels ran around the city, saying, “Let’s beat Uighurs to death”, APA reports quoting Turkey’s Hurriyyet newspaper. They attacked the shops and houses. Police could stop the crowd using tear gas. Uighur men above 16 are arrested and Uighur women are not allowed to hold protest action. “Police took away my husband and didn’t explain the reason”, Maliya, Uighur woman told Reuters. 20-year old Abdul Ali said: “They arrested three of my brothers and my sister. It is a time of resistance”. Police prevented Uighurs in the town of Kashgar of the autonomous region who aimed to hold protest actions. Phone and Internet communications were cut in the region.

The violence began after the molestation of Chinese men to the Uighur women in the toy factory in Shaoguan and killing of two Uighurs.
The Uighur people taking streets to protest the crime and to demand to punish the guilty men faced with strong interference by police. According to official reports, 156 people were killed during the clashes, but there is unofficial report about 500-1000 Uighur people dead.
