CE officialâ€™s visit to Baku ends

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova â€“APA. Robert Palmer, Director of the Council of Europe on Culture, Cultural and Natural Heritage has finished his visit to Baku. Zohra Aliyeva, Spokeswoman for the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism told APA he had discussed with Azerbaijani officials the preparations for the conference of the Council of Europe Culture Ministers to take place in Baku on November 19-21, 2008. Council of Europe and ISESCO expected to sign an agreement for cooperation at the conference attended by the European and Muslim Countries. This was initiated by Azerbaijan. The conference will lay a foundation of â€œBaku processâ€, a new system of cultural relations in Europe. Experts will meet on the eve of the conference to prepare documents to be discussed at the meetings of authors of the compendium project on CE cultural policy, regional coordinators of Kiev Initiative. A working group of representatives of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism, ISESCO and ALECSO expected to be established at the conference. The working group will hold its first meeting on May 4, 2008 in Strasbourg.
