Culture and Tourism Ministry holds board meeting on the outcomes of 2007

He stated that Azerbaijan achieved several successes on culture and tourism spheres in 2007.
â€œMinister took about 150 measures on various spheres during the report. 80 new and restored performances were prepared and visits of art figures to foreign countries were organized. Creative works of Almas Ildirim, Huseyn Javid , Molla Panah Vagif were investigated and propagated,â€ he said.
Minister stressed that holding of 125th anniversary of Huseyn Javid, 1st International Music Festival named after Mstislav Rostropovich, Azerbaijan Music Festival, as well as inauguration of State Puppet Theatre after reconstruction is important events. Minister stressed that Azerbaijani Cultural Days in Moscow on April 15-19 in 2007, in Belarus on 21-24, in Moldova on May 26-29 were carried out successfully.
â€œInauguration of Azerbaijani pavilion in 52nd Venice Biennale held on June 7 is an important event in the history of Azerbaijani culture. Participation of Shahin Novresli in Montr Jazz Festival held on August in 2007 and his winning 2nd place is also included into the successful events. According Presidential orders , over 200 art figured were awarded honorary titles ,special grants this year,â€ he said.
