Farhad Badalbayli: Shahin Novrasli did not rank the first in Montreux festival, as chief of the jury was Turkish

Azeri jazzman Shahin Novrasli, who represented Azerbaijan in the 41st music festival in the city of Montreux and got the second place held a press conference on August 2, APA reports. The jazzman said that representatives from over 40 countries participated in the festival and Cuban musician took the first place.
“Musicians of four countries - Azerbaijan, Austria, France and Cuba performed in the final. It was the first time Azerbaijan was represented in the festival and we are glad that Azerbaijani musician was appraised,” he said.
Speaking about his future plans Shahin Novresli noted that he will participate in
the festival in Moscow. He also added that he is working on his new album.
Rector of Baku Music Academy Farhad Badalbayli making a speech at the press conference said Shahin Novrasli should have been the first.
“Shahin performed best of all the musicians. Unfortunately, he was not apprised justly. The chief of the jury is a Turkish pianist Fazil Say. He told me that Shahin performed best of all, but he could not give him the first place, since both of them are Turks,” he said.
Presenting his new website jazzman underlined that the website covers all information about him. The website is in Azeri, English and Russian.
