Fakhraddin Manafov: Tom Cruise has a long way to go to get to me

- National Movie Day will be marked in Azerbaijan tomorrow and you are 52 on that day. Do you celebrate your birthday on shooting area?
- Of course, I am on the shooting area. We are about to finish the film Fate of the Ruler written by Elchin Efendiyev. I played a role there and at the same time trained actors.
- Do you receive proposals from abroad?
- I often receive offers to Russia. I will leave for Moscow on August 3. I will stay there 10-15 days. We are about to finish 10-series film. The film is produced by Alexander Kasadnik.
- What Azeri movie did you watch last?
- I last watched A southern city by Rustam Ibrahimbayov. By the way, I played a role there.
- Do you think the presidentâ€™s recent executive order on the development of cinema will give impetus to this process?
- All cinema figures should be grateful to the president for this. We expected this order and I think that it will give great impetus to the development of the cinema. I believe that Azerbaijani movie will take its place. Funds will be allocated on Azeri movie. These funds should be allocated by the government.
- You are one the actors whose potential was not completely usedâ€¦
- I agree to it. We finished shooting of a historical film on the initiative of producer Vagif Asadullayev, Azerbaijani living in Moscow. I witnessed great potential of young actors there. There is an actor of Pantomime Theater, Parviz. He is a very talented actor. We should work with such actors. I am very sorry that Rasim Ojagov is not with us now. There is no film director in Azerbaijan now who works with actors. Due to the lack of film directors Azeri movie can not get access to the international arena.
- Are you satisfied with the film dubbing in Azerbaijan?
- I can only name Eldaniz Rasulov. I am not satisfied with the level of dubbing. Artificial sounds and shouts should be prevented in dubbing. It is impossible to watch dubbed films in Azerbaijan.
- Some say you are a world actor failing to enter world arenaâ€¦
- Iâ€™m already 52 years old, not little. People of my age are really lucky as they saw this period. Our ancestors could never achieve this, they were eager to do, though. Samandar Rzayev, Hasanaga Turabov, Hasan Mammadov were great actors. But they could never reach world arena. But today we have such chances which cost very much. I wish the world knew that Azerbaijan has a world-fame producer capable of making films on global problem and actors acting in that film. If we do not get out of Azerbaijan, how they will see us? We are not going to show our existence via internet.
- Would you be as popular as Tom Cruise if had such conditions?
- Tom Cruise is far from me. Azerbaijan could make seventy actors like Tom Cruise in a year if had professional psychologists, producers and etc. as he is having around.
- The audience has recently seen you in the clipâ€¦
- The clip had to be dedicated to Rasim Ojagov. Unfortunately, â€œdevoted to Rasim Ojagovâ€ has been removed from the clip. We had an idea to make some chain. Unfortunately, Zulfiyye Khanbabayeva and her producer removed it from the text.
- Will you say Okay to such a proposal if received again?
- Yes, I will agree if the proposal is of high values. We had other plans for this clip. We met with Zulfiyye Khanbabayeva, talkedâ€¦
- Are you satisfied with the clip?
- Nothing is satisfactory for the person.
- Azeri intellectuals visited Nagorno Karabakh recently. How would you react if offered to participate in the delegation?
- I am really sorry that I was absent in that delegation. I was born in Khankendi. If I had known about the visit I would have insisted that they take me too. I would like to see Nagorno Karabakh. I have 15-20 years left and wish to spend them in my motherland.
-Which places would you like to visit in Khankendi?
- I am not sure I would see anybody from the â€œpastâ€. I was born there, left Khankendi when I was 5-6 years old. I would like to my legs down from Jidir in Susha.I would swim in its river, taste its fruits.Our house was located 7 kilometers aloof from Khankendi, on the bank of Gar-qar River.
- Why do not you give interview?
- Actually I do not even know why I gave you interviewâ€¦/APA/
