The U.S. Department of State: Russia planned to make a coup d'etat in Montenegro

The U.S. Department of State has declared that Russia planned to make a coup d'etat in Montenegro, partners of the republic in NATO have been informed on it, APA reports quoting RÄ°A Novosti.

The corresponding statement was made by the acting as the assistant to the Secretary of State John of Heffern has declared that Russia tried to interfere with elections to Chernogoriipo to his words, in Montenegro "last year several Russian agents have gathered", and "the authorities of Montenegro have informed us in NATO on the planned coup d'etat in Montenegro".

According to the statement of the American diplomat, "the Russian agents used any mechanisms to undermine elections" in Montenegro. On Monday Montenegro officially became the member of NATO.

Earlier the Foreign Minister of Montenegro Serdzhan Darmanovich has declared that Russia "has strongly interfered into internal affairs" the republics because of intention of the authorities to go into alliance. The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called unscrpulous such statements.

Before the official representative the MFA Maria Zakharova declared that charges to Russia are directed to a justification before own population of the accession to NATO.
