Armenia will not participate in any process directed against Iran or its other neighboring countries, Armenian Security Council Secretary Alen Simonyan stated, Arminfo reports.
He made the remarks during discussions held as part of the Second Pan-Armenian Summit.
Responding to a question about whether the US-initiated TRIPP project could be used against Iran, he outlined Armenia's position.
"We will never join any process against Iran or any of our neighbors. This is our political position. Secondly, TRIPP is an economic project. The presence of even a single armed serviceman is not envisaged within the framework of this project," Simonyan said.
According to him, Armenia has informed all its neighbors about this matter.
The Security Council Secretary noted that the project could also create new opportunities for Iran. He said TRIPP is an important part of the Middle Corridor, opening up new economic opportunities for the South Caucasus.
