Baku-APA. The Egyptian military denied the presence of any U.S. or foreign naval forces or equipment near the Egyptian coasts, the army's spokesman said in a statement on Friday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
"With regards to some media reports about the presence of U.S. military battleships near the Egyptian coasts, the Armed Forces affirm that this news is completely untrue," Colonel Ahmed Mohamed Ali said, stressing that there was neither U.S. nor foreign military naval equipment near the Egyptian coasts.
Over the past few days, some local media outlets reported about the presence of U.S. battleships off some coasts in Egypt, adding that the Egyptian air forces are currently in positions aiming at them.
