Ukraine, not Russia, is holding up a possible peace deal with Ukraine, US President Donald Trump told Reuters, APA reports .
Trump said Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to end the nearly four-year military campaign against Ukraine, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is more hesitant, the US president said.
The agency notes that Trump's statements indicate growing dissatisfaction with the Ukrainian leader. Relations between the two presidents have long been tense, although they have improved somewhat during Trump's first year back in office.
In some cases, Trump has accepted Putin's assurances more readily than the leaders of some U.S. allies, which has angered Kiev, European capitals, and the U.S. Congress, including some Republican lawmakers.
