The United States military and intelligence services believe that both objects that had been shot over Alaska and Canada since February 10 were balloons, US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer revealed on Sunday, APA reports citing Teletrader.
Schumer told ABC News that he was briefed by US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and that the two objects were "much smaller" than the balloon that was shot down off the coast of South Carolina last week.
The US will likely be able to "piece together" the first balloon and to learn "exactly what's going on," according to the Democrat from New York. The incident represents a "real step back" for China, which was "caught lying" and "humiliated," he added.
